“KID
PRINTS”

About the program:
The "KID
PRINTS" program is a new service
presented by the Missing Children Center, Inc. We would like to have as many
children involved with the "KID
PRINTS" as possible. It
is fun and easy to get the program involved with your organization! Simply
contact our office to schedule
your "KID
PRINTS" event!
"KID
PRINTS" cards provide parents with a digital photo,
thumbprints and important information pertaining to your child. The Missing
Children Center does not keep the thumbprints, information or photo on file. The
card is to remain in the parent's wallet at all times. In the event of
your child being missing or lost, (for example in a mall)
the "KID
PRINTS" card would aid
security and police in finding your child. A simple physical description of your
child may be misleading, it could be describing a lot of children in the same
area at that moment. Time is critical when your child is missing. When you're
upset it is difficult to think clearly and the "KID
PRINTS" card eliminates
the need to remember important details.
Facts:
 | The single most important tool in finding missing children is a current
photograph. |
 | In 2001 there were 50,864 missing children reported missing in the
state of Florida alone. |
 | There are over 4,000 missing children in the state of Florida at any
given time. |
 | Having your child fingerprinted and photographed will NOT prevent them
from becoming missing, it is only a precaution. |
 | Fingerprints are an invaluable tool to law enforcement should your
child become missing. |
Special
Thank You: We would like to recognize the
McKesson Foundation for being the sole sponsor of the "KID
PRINTS" program. The McKesson
Foundation presented us with a grant which was used to purchase all the
equipment and supplies needed to start the program. The McKesson Foundation will
forever be a part of the Missing Children Center and all of it's work!
A special Thank You to Florida State Fraternal Congress and Florida
Fraternal Insurance Counselors for the purchase and donation of additional
equipment. Your help and concern for keeping children safe is greatly
appreciated.
